  1. Miss Hinde is very excited to be heading to Las Vegas and San Francisco this summer. Being the true geography teacher that I am, I will be visiting the Grand Canyon and the San Andreas Fault! Looking forward to telling you all about it in September. Stay tuned for pictures...

I am in Tampa bay, Florida, America right now and it is 2:37 English time. I have two days left before I return to the UK and I am sad I am leaving after these two lovely weeks in the sun. however the weather recently has been rubbish lately as hurricane Irene is heading towards Carolina. luckily it is coming towards us. we landed in Miami and had to drive roughly 200-400 miles to get to where we are staying, during this long trip we had to drive through alligator alley which is a long stretch of road across Florida. it also has lots of alligators except the sides of the roads were fenced off. we haven't been doing a lot this holiday as it has been very relaxing but we have also had our fair share of adrenaline as we visited universal studios, islands of adventures (which is another park in universal studios) Busch gardens and adventure island. the temperature is usually 80-100 degrees Fahrenheit even with rain. earlier in the week we visited a fort called fort de soto which was used during some war. it smelt a bit though. we have also been shopping quite a bit. at the moment we are waiting for baby turtles to hatch on the beach we are staying on. turtles usually hatch between 50 and 60 days and today it is day 59 so they should pop out of the sand between 9:30 and 12:30 (American time). our friends have just told us that they are starting to hatch and come out of the sand. I am going to go and watch them hatch now so bye and I will see you in September. and remember my birthday presents. ;)
