An Important Visitor

Welcome back and here's to another exctiting year at FCA,

We are now in the second week of term and it has been a fantastic start in the School of Humanities, lessons are going on and learners seem to be doing ever more interesting things whilst learning! I am in the privileged position of seeing lots of your work and it is superb - well done and keep it up - I am also really pleased to see so many of you leaving comments on the blog.

Keep an eye on the Stars boards as they will be updated at the end of this week - if you are a star you will also recieve 10 credits.

I am writing to tell you that this week sees the arrival of a very important member of the Catholic church - The Pope.

Pope Benedict will visit Britain from the 16th of September, he will saty for 4 days and will attend special events in London, Glasgow and Birmingham. A Pope has not visited Britain since 1982 and the crowds are looking forward to seeing the Pope travel in the ....... Popemobile!

Use this link to see this fantastic mode of transport and find out other details about the visit.

What do you think of the Popemobile?

Have a great week,
Miss Fox

Year 7/8 Geography Article

Your homework for the first two weeks is to visit the two links below and read/watch the news articles at those links. The first link is a video about how forest fires in Russia can be linked to the floods in Pakistan and the second is a newspaper article about a dam being built in Brazil.

To view these links, copy and paste the addresses below into a web browser or click on the links below.

Be ready for a quiz on what you have seen in your next Geography lesson so make sure that you understand both of the articles.

Good Luck!
