  1. they could have reduced the death toll if there were tsunami warning systems there because they would have known a tsunami was coming so they could have evacuted the area and for the earthquake, they can a ball in bulings so they don't collpase and also they need better emergancy services

  2. Precilla Leng 10M2,

In my opinion, people in Indonesia should pay more attention on Tsunami. They should build the houses in well condition. If the weather goes worse and worse, people should have to prepare about it, like they need to stay indoor rather than outdoor. People should also buy more food and drinks to eat.

  3. Seismographs could have been used as they would of detected the vibrations.
Stronger, safer and more secure building that can withstand an earthquake could be built to reduce the death toll and damage.
A better warning system for the tsunamis.

  4. To reduce the death toll in Indonesia. Firstly, the goverment could build houses with better foundations, and stronger structures - if possible with the countries money. For example they could use mesh that has some ease to reduce the vibrations and shaking. Seismographs could have been used, so then they could have detected any of the vibrations.

  5. I think they should have evacuated the area. The types of buildings would have made it better because they wouldn't collapse. The emergency services were not that good.

  6. If they had warning systems in place in Indonesia, such as using Seismographs to monitor the ground vibrations, they would of been able to detect earthquakes and tsunami's coming so they'd be able to evacuate before it hits. To prevent the amount of damage made they should try building safer buildings with things like stronger reinforced foundations so the buildings are less likely to fall down.

  8. Since indonesia is suituated on the ring of fire it is quite vunerable to these kind of disasters so they should make the really dangerous zones unhabbitable for the local people and provide them with other alternatives as to where they live. And make the buildings eathquake proof incase of earthquake but more importantly give the local people training.

  9. To prevent the amount of damage caused by earthquakes I think that they should modify the buildings by making the walls stronger and thicker, I think they should also give local people basic training in first aid and also how to act in that certain situation this will help people with injuries and also keep people calmer. They might also want to coincide a red area, this should be the place in Indonesia that is most affected by earthquakes, making this uninhabitable will help to prevent deaths and destruction, one of the best things to do in my opinion is to be prepared.
